1st off this is for my mom for Christmas
here are the massage choices I need to pick from (and I don’t know anything about massages so i really need some help) : deep tissue massage, swedish massage and therapeutic massage
and here are my facial choices ( once again I don’t know anything about them) : elemental nature facial, green science plant peel, botanical skin resurfacing, and deep cleansing facial.
thanks :]
she doesn’t get massages a lot
and those are the only choices I have
Depends what your mom likes. I worked as a massage therapist and some people’s toleration of any pressure is REALLY low, others prefer a much deeper massage. Deep tissue massage is great, but you do come out feeling a bit pummeled at first, although the benefits for aching muscles and knots is really good. Swedish massage is a general massage. Not sure what you mean by a therapeutic massage, if it’s with aromatherapy it’s my favourite for relaxing.
Don’t know too much about facials, but I think I’d prefer a deep cleansing one rather than something that’s going to peel my skin and make me look red and raw for new year!
A thoughtful present for your mom, I’m sure she’ll love it whatever you pick!

Is there any product out there that is good for improving slight acne marks?

I have several acne marks/scars on my forehead…….and I was wondering what products out there are worth buying? If no product works…what should I get, Microdermabrasion, Chemical peel, or skin laser resurfacing?
You say "slight" acne scars… I think laser is a bit too invasive for that (2 weeks downtime with painkillers and antibiotics… My advice to you is to try the least invasive and least expensive procedure for superficial scars - microdermabrasion. And you have two options here: you either do it at home with a special microderma kit, or you go to a spa, a beauty salon or a dermatology office and have a professional microderma - this option is more effective and has more dramatic effects than commercial products.
If you chose at-home kits… Neutrogena, Susan Lucci, L’Oreal, Philosophy, Olay and Dermanew are the most popular brands on the at-home microderma kit market. I have tried most of them and they all have pros and cons. For fine scars, they all work pretty well. But then again, so does professional microderma…
Have a talk to your doctor before making a decision.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Im a 23 year old male and I had a bit of acne when i was a teenager and I have a couple red dots on my face now which are acne scars and I also have some red spots on my face which I have no clue what they are. I hate looking at them and want my face 100% clear. Will laser skin resurfacing help me with this problem?
MICRODERMABRASION!!! ALL THE WAY!
I had quite bad acne when I was younger, I’m now 21 and still get breakouts but mostly I have a really congested T Zone.
Micro-D is an awesome way of clearing away scars, dead skin cells, and even sucking out blackheads!
I can’t be bothered explaining it, but I’ve copied this from a website…
"Micro Dermabrasion In A Nutshell
Microderm abrasion is a simple, straight forward, non-invasive procedure that revitalizes dull skin, reduces large pores, erases fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, reduces mild pigment irregularities (hyperpigmentation), stretch marks and age spots.
It is equally effective to other skin treatments (on superficial imperfections) and, most importantly, it allows you to get back to your daily routine immediately after treatment.
In a nutshell, microdermabrasion is a skin resurfacing treatment that uses tools or products designed for home use, in order to rejuvenate and restore natural glow to the skin. The micro dermabrasion procedure is simple and painless AND (this is the best part) is equally effective to surgical procedures (laser skin resurfacing, dermal abrasion) and chemical peels (for superficial skin imperfections only).
These days, micro abrasion can be performed at home, but it was originally performed by plastic surgeons who used hand-held machines (similar to sandblasters) to spray and circulate high-pressure crystal flow onto the skin.
Microdermabrasion machines are made of a compressor and pump that mix gentle abrasion with suction to peel the outer skin layer (10-15 microns of skin, a layer so thin that you can’t see it). The entire procedure, unlike dermabrasion or laser skin surgery, doesn’t take more than 30-60 minutes. You can have it on the face, neck, chest, back, feet and hands."
I’ve spoken to many people who are totally against it and say it’s harsh on your skin. If you have sensitive skin then I wouldn’t recommend it, but it’s worked wonders for me
