I saw a similar … I saw a similar method on another video on Youtube. It was in Japanese, but in the “information” section it explained what they were doing step-by-step in English. In THAT particular video, it instructs to cut a line around the potato before boiling, to make skin removal more uniform, and then to bathe it in the ice water for 10 seconds instead of 5. It appears to work either way… althought the Japanese method peeled several different kinds of potatoes instead of one. Who knows?
The Tigress
it also depends on … it also depends on the type of potato. the one she has makes it extremely easy to peel. other potatoes can be really soft and crumble upon peeling.
you know they are … you know they are making mashed potatoes..so after “you whack the crap out of them” you still have to boil that water and cook them
Yes its like a lazy … Yes its like a lazy way to do it.. but, if you’re doing a million things a tonce in a kitchen, it could really save u time coming to this step whiel you were busy getting other things done
WTF? I have to wait … WTF? I have to wait for water to boil, plus I need to get ice and create an ice bath? The “old-fashioned” way is to grab a peeler and whack the crap out of the potato. Long before a pan of water could boil, I’d have a big pile of fresh potatoes peeled. This is a retarded lazy person’s way to “peel” a potato and actually entails more time and more dishes than if you just put in the minimal effort to hand peel the things. Geez… this is like making three right-turns instead of one left-turn.
I know this is … I know this is stupid, but i was thinking….
That Ice water cant be 45 ° because ice melts when its over 32°…. so its impossible, it is actually in 32° in the so called fusion point or solidification point. (Kinda bored).
