My skin is peeling, how long until my skin goes back to normal?

I got sunburned horribly on my abs. Its just starting to peel. Should I use a body scrub in the shower to get the dead/peeling skin off? The skin under the peel is pinkish. How much longer til the peeling stops and the skin goes back to normal?

It usually only lasts for a couple of days for me. I get burned on my shoulders and I end up just rubbing at it until it goes away. If you would like to help rub it away, I would suggest getting a shower loofah. A good couple scrubs with one of those will help the peeling along, just don’t try too hard or you could end up irritating your skin and it will turn red and sensitive.
