    ok, usually the co2 …
ok, usually the co2 surgery will only touch0.2-0.3 micron on the surface and the blood will be sealed by over 600 c degree, i mean usually experienced surgeon will do that and you wont bleeeeed. But some conditions such as over 0.3 micron or deeper ablation will make you bleed, it depends on the surgeon would like to shorten the surgery times, from 3~4 times shorten to 2~3 times.

Oh, hamfish, I was just teasing the person who said that it was OK to laser scars but old people should just accept their wrinkles. I added a wink at the end of my reply to her/him.

Like many, I have both, and if I could afford it would remove both wrinkles and scars. Neither ‘limit’ me, but I’d enjoy having smoother skin. *sigh*

They probably put her under because of the increased setting of the laser. The pain might have been too uncomfortable for her. She probably agreed to it because she knows her threshold for pain. They have to give you the option.

Crazy results, but I must say that the process looked very scary and had me quite worried.

    Black skin stays …
Black skin stays younger-looking longer for several reasons:
-Black skin’s melanin blocks harmful rays, while pale skin absorbs them, though we can can still burn.
-Black skin is thicker than White skin(up to 40% thicker), making wrinkles less likely.
-If a person is prone to keloid scarring, they’ll develop it, no matter what, when the skin, etc.

There are newer laser applications, namely the “Cool Touch”, that are said to be better for ethnic skin tones & textures.

  20. KayakFreak says:

    I’ve read that …
I’ve read that paler skin tends to try out and wrinkle sooner as we age, where darker skin retains youth longer, yet is more prone to keloid/scar development. I’d talk to someone who’d had it done first. I’m not African-American, but what I’ve read of these treatments was that some scarring/keloid development may occur in darker skin. That info is also 8 years old. Talk to someone who has had it done.

    Acne damage like …
Acne damage like wrinkles is a part of life. Accept it. ;)

  22. TheReturnOfStephan says:

If she wants to do …
If she wants to do something about her wrinkles, it’s her business.
    Your approval isn’t necessary.
Let’s see how you feel about said wrinkles in 40 years or so…

  23. passycot says:

    if your’re covered …
if your’re covered in wrinkles then you should accecpt the fact that you have aged. if you have acne damage then laser treatment is perfectly justifiable sinse you have been robbed of your skin at such a young age.
